If I Only Had a Blog......

OK Alright I confess. This is not a real blog (yet). This is a placeholder. It's a technology prop as it were. At some point in the not to distant future we will replace this page with a connection to a real blog where we will all have the opportunity to interact and poke fun at one another. So don't expect the Read More buttons to take you anywhere but right back to this page. The sponsor links are dead and the sponsors themselves - well that's just wishful thinking on our part. I will take the opportunity below to put a few shots across the bow of the world of conventional medicine and the institutions and agencies that would have you become entirely dependent upon them, not for your betterment, but to line their pockets with your money and government money - which, when you think about it, is your money too. I can feel my juices flowing already. I really have come to despise the tactics being used against the public, and it irks me even more that the public is buying into it. Boy would I have a lot to say...if I only had a blog...

Not your Grandmother's Health Care Practitioner...or maybe...

I know that I am getting older, but I am fairly certain that my "biological" age is far less than my "chronological" age. I'm in decent shape (actually I'm being quite modest about it) and I weigh less by almost 25 pounds than I did when I graduated high school. Sure I had my ups and downs during my life, but I always knew what I had to do to get things under control and I had both the desire and the discipline to do it. I have learned a great deal over the years of competitive athletics about my own body and much of it came from injury and recovery and studying myself like a lab rat.

I can still remember when the doctor came to your house if you were ill. He walked right up to the door carrying that little black bag. He didn't have thousands of pharmaceutical products; maybe he had two or three and one of them was penicillin. I can remember when take two aspirin and call me in the morning was a reasonable prescription. I can remember when grandma's chicken soup, an apple, and some orange juice all had medicinal uses as did mustard, castor oil, and hundreds upon hundreds of naturally occuring products. And I do not think that more people were dying or getting ill than today. In fact, I think people were healthier.

So what happened? How did we get so far away from personalized care and into this world of sanctioned addiction to prescription drugs and the "Jiffy-Surg" mentality of the surgeons and hospitals. This is very scary stuff, and if the powers that be have their way, it's going to get a lot worse.

The Axis of Evil - Big Pharma, Big Insurance, & the FDA......

I remember when President Bush used the term Axis of Evil to describe our nation's enemies. He may have been pointing his finger in the wrong direction, but I will agree with him that there is an Axis of Evil. This is especially true when it comes to your health. For most of those reading this article, it is safe to say that NOT ONE DISEASE HAS BEEN CURED IN YOUR LIFETIME - NOT A SINGLE ONE. The last disease to be "officially cured" in the US was polio and that was back in the early 1950's. Given the billions of dollars spent on medical research every year, it seems disproportionately bizarre that not a single cure for any disease would come out of 60 years of research. Don't you find this as mystifying as I do?

I am a big fan of the Occam's Razor school of logic - which states that if you have exhausted all but one of the possible explanations to a situation, that the one you are left with, no matter how absurd it may seem, it correct. So I will maintain that the reason 60 years of research and billions of dollars invested haven't provided any cures to any diseases is simply that those who received the money and conducted the research weren't looking for cures. They were looking for something else and that something else was MONEY.

There is no profit in cure - there is only profit in treatment. This will continue when we have a real blog as I plan to rant repeatedly about the greed driving the health industry and what we can do to stop it.
